One of the more convenient aspects of touring southwestern national parks and using Las Vegas as the starting point is the location itself. Most national parks in the country are multiple hour drives from any city, due to the fact that the protection of the area itself prevents development within a certain area. Las Vegas is about 4 hours from many of the parks in Utah and Arizona, but is actually only 2.5 hours from Zion. This makes for an interesting multi-park tour as you can leave from Las Vegas and get to Zion in only a short time, then after exploring and enjoying Zion you can move on to Bryce in only around another two hours of driving time.
