Make Sure You Visit The Right Grand Canyon

Because of the increased interest in tourism to the Grand Canyon over the course of the last 10 years, there has been significant amounts of attempted development to make money off of people who are interested in seeing this National Park. Probably the best of all of the developments that have happened to satisfy this increased demand is the arrangement of tour packages that would start In Las Vegas and transport you to the National Park area itself. This takes the burden of driving 5 hours each direction off of the plate of the person who wants to see the Canyon. It has been found that the majority of people who would enjoy visiting national parks but failed to do so do not visit simply because they don’t want to make the drive. National parks are notoriously remote, meaning that you are going to have to drive more than a day just to get to the area that you want to visit. This can be quite difficult for most people, especially those who are unfamiliar with driving through desolate areas. National parks are usually not located very close to cities, and this type of driving through unpopulated regions can be quite intimidating for anyone who is not used to it. Because of the increased amounts of interest in national parks as well as affordable airline fees and hotels, an entire cottage industry of tours from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon has grown. Because this type of tour is catering to people that are essentially on vacation and in a tourism mode, there has been a new development over the course of the last 10 years that is a little less than good to most people. as a matter of fact there are a lot of people out there who would view this development as very detrimental to the tourism industry. What we were talking about is the marketing of Grand Canyon tours that are actually not visiting the Grand Canyon National Park. This might be surprising to people but unfortunately there are lots of folks who accidentally booked the wrong tour not knowing that it is actually going to go to an area that is not the Grand Canyon National Park, and is actually located on Indian Reservation land. This is the difference between the Grand Canyon W and the Grand Canyon S locations. In order to attract people to an area of the Grand Canyon that was not very frequently visited, one that is owned by The Navajo Indian tribe, they built a large tourist attraction called the Grand Canyon skywalk at the Grand Canyon W and did a large advertising campaign to capitalize on tourist traffic that does not understand the difference. There are a lot of people land in Las Vegas expecting to book a tour to the Grand Canyon who are immediately headed off buy advertisements in the airport. They book the tour because they think that they’re going to the Grand Canyon and are going to see the area that they have seen in books and magazines, and Unfortunately they end up at the Grand Canyon skywalk which is far less scenic and is actually not part of the National Park system. Although these tours are not necessarily giving you something that they are not advertising, it is always best to do your research to make sure that you can get that tour that you wanted.
